LONG POINT BIOSPHERE RESERVE
Periodic Review Report, 2001
This report is in three sections. The first summarizes the main findings and conclusions of the reviewers. The second is a narrative to highlight main events and activities of the biosphere reserve since its inception, and the context within which these occurred. The third section is the completed Periodic Review Form.
Much of the information for the periodic review was obtained from libraries or other secondary sources. This was supplemented by a site visit on November 24-25, 2000, along with some additional telephone interviews, to meet people involved in the Long Point Biosphere Reserve (LPBR) and discuss topics associated with their perceptions and experiences of it. Their help, information, and insights were very much appreciated. Our thanks to:
Michael Bradstreet, Executive-Director, Bird Studies Canada, former Chair of an organizational steering committee for the LPBR, 1986-1988.
